Description
A Raman scattering study of neutron irradiated silicon is presented for the first time. Features in the Raman spectrum were observed, arising from amorphous zones produced in the bulk of the sample due to neutron induced defects. These first order Raman modes are related to the crystalline vibrational density of states averaged over the Brillouin zone. (author)
