Backfit implementation: The five year schedule

  • 1. Nuclear Power Systems, Combustion Engineering, Inc., Windsor, CT 06095

Description

The industry and Nuclear Regulatory Commission have recognized a need for a reasonable method to establish work priorities for Nuclear Regulatory Commission mandated and utility sponsored activities. One method that is being used to accomplish this is the ''Integrated Living Schedule.'' Although it is meeting with some skepticism by the majority of licensees, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is encouraging widespread adoption of the scheduling technique. This paper offers an alternative concept to the Integrated Living Schedule that can satisfy the regulator's concern about improved control and management of available resources while satisfying the utility's desire to maintain an adequate separation between Nuclear Regulatory Commission required and utility sponsored plant betterment programs
