Step scenario of mass transfer in ultrafine oxides
- 1. UrO RAN, Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation). Inst. Khimii Tverdogo Tela
Description
Results of investigations into kinetics and mechanism of the process of crystal size growth in ultrafine oxides (BeO, ZrO2) are generalized. Step scenario of mass transfer is ascertained. At the first stage mass transfer occurs weakly. The second stage of mass transfer results in the growth of crystal size and at the third stage sintering processes, recrystallization and edging of crystals take place. Temperature intervals of the second and third stage realization are defined by the physico-chemical nature of oxides. Impurities displace temperature intervals of mass-transfer stage manifestation as they change the activation energy of adatom production on the surface. 3 refs., 2 figs., 3 tabs
