Polarizability of the deuteron and S-wave π+d scattering in the energy region below 1 keV

  • 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research

Description

The variable-phase method is used to study the effect of the polarizability of the deuteron on S-wave π+d scattering in the low-energy limit. It is shown that the nonoscillating part of the S-wave cross section for π+d scattering has a deep and sharp minimum in the energy region around 0.4 keV
