Description
This review gives a summary of some proportional counters developed for conversion Moessbauer spectroscopy (CMS), in which they are used to detect electrons or X-rays resonantly emitted after the nuclear resonance absorption of incident γ rays. Characteristic of simultaneous conversion and transmission Moessbauer spectroscopy are presented and test measurement carried out at room temperature are reported. Some application of CMS are also reviewed. (authors)
