Second-order fluid-transient MHD Couett flow with constant stress at upper plate
Description
The unsteady laminar flow of an incompressible, viscous electrically conducting second-order fluid between infinite parallel plates subject to a transverse magnetic field is considered. One plate is fixed and the other is subjected to a constant stress. For this flow, under short circuit condition, exact solutions are possible and expressions for velocity, normalized flow rate and dimensionless stress at the lower plate are obtained. Variation of velocity with time, Hartmann number and second-order parameter are graphically shown. The effect of time, Hartmann number and second-order parameter on normalized flow rate and stress are studied. The flow rate decreases with increase in second order-parameter. (author)
