  • 1. Hospital de Base do Distrito Federal, Brasilia, DF (Brazil)

Description

The authors present the results of scintigraphic study in 12 patients with melanoma. The twelve patients, eight males, nine white and three black, with a median age of 51.5 years old, with melanoma in various sites, were divided in two groups: Group I - five cases, for disease staging; Group II -seven cases, for disease follow-up. The scintigraphic study was realized 2, 6, 10 and 24 hours after endo venous injection of 50 mCi (1850 MBq) labelling monoclonal antibodies anti-melanoma (Tecnemab from Sorin). The studies were useful in detecting lesions: skin (5 x); lymphnodes (4 x). Ocular, brain and soft tissues one time each independent of the scintigraphy objective (if staging or follow-up). (author)
