Crystal growth and neutral-acceptor bound-exciton emission of ZnCdTe by the travelling heater method (THM) with Te solvent
Description
The growth of mixed crystals of Zn/sub x/Cd/sub 1-x/Te (0.1 <= x <= 0.9) from a Te solvent by the travelling heater method (THM) using a powder-like ingot is reported. X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements and ion microprobe mass analyses are made for characterization of compounds. It has been shown that the THM technique is very conventional and effective to obtain a highly homogeneous composition in the wide band gap II-VI mixed crystals with excellent luminescent properties
