The IKO experimental program

Description

The 500 MeV, high duty factor linear electron accelerator at the Institute for Nuclear Research (IKO), Amsterdam, and its experimental facilities (electron scattering and pion-muon physics) are briefly discussed in terms of parameters, status of the different projects and the schedule for completion. Emphasis is given to the electron scattering facilities both in the recently completed low-energy substation (140 MeV) and in the 500 MeV endstation. Ongoing physics in collaboration with other electron scattering laboratories (Mainz, MIT and Saclay) are described and the outlines of the experimental program to be undertaken in the facilities under construction are discussed.
