Laboratory superconductivity magnetic system with magnetic field of 16 Tl

Description

Superconducting magnetic system (SMS) permitting to carry out investigations in a magnetic field up of 8.2 Tl with the operating volume 200 mm in diameter and in a magnetic field of 16Tl with the operating volume 26 mm in diameter is described. Use of magnetic flux dysprosium concentrates permits to increase magnetic field induction upto 20 Tl. SMS is composed of three concentric superconducting solenoids arranged in submerged type helium cryostate. External and medium solenoids are made of NbTi base industrial round multiwire conductor and may operate as separate magnets. Internal solenoid is made of Nb3Sn base tape conductor, and is aimed at operating in external stabilizing magnetic field. SMS displayed stabilized operation under all conditions and conserved its parameters after a few tens of transitions to the normal state
