Superparamagnetic nanoparticles as blood-pool contrast agents. Contribution to MRI preclinical investigations

  • 1. Lab. Guerbet, 93 - Aulnay-sous-Bois (France)

Description

The properties of the ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (US-PIO) SINEREM and its potential effect on the magnetic resonance imaging signal were studied in preclinical investigations to determine its possible applications and limits. The magnetic properties of the USPIO combined with its physicochemical characteristics governs its pharmacokinetic biodistribution and diagnostic efficacy. (orig.)
