Collision of two black holes: An analytic nonlinear approximation technique

Using geodesical and antisymmetric slicing we calculate in lowest order the three-metric for the problem of two colliding black holes. We also show how the appropriate choice of the lapse and shift functions influences the coordinate shear and the smoothness of the three-metric
