Trapping and re-emission of helium ions from molybdenum

Description
In the present work the authors study the entrapment of 25 keV He+ ions into molybdenum target and gas re-emission from metal during heating after bombardment. It was found that the gas re-emission spectra consist of three main temperature stages: 400-10000K, 1000-16000K, 1600-21000K. The gas evolution in these stages is the consequence of blisters destruction, gas bubbles disappearance and helium diffusion in solution respectively. The containment of gas in blisters, bubbles and solution was measured. The dependence of trapping coefficient on target temperature and ion dose was measured. (Auth.)
