Continuous infusion VP-16, bolus cis-platinum and simultaneous radiation therapy as salvage therapy in small cell bronchogenic carcinoma
Description
The ability of cisplatin to potentiate radiation has been observed in in vitro and in vivo studies. There has been an anecdotal report of podyphyllins acting as a radiation sensitizer as well. Continuous infusion VP-16, bolus cisplatin, and simultaneous, hyperfractionated radiation have been combined in an effort to maximize their potential synergistic interactions
