Description

Full-text: Ageing management is a part of the Integrated Management System of RTP that is applied to ensure the facility meets the requirements for safety in the aspect of operation and maintenance throughout of its lifetime. Ageing is defined as a general process in which the characteristics of SSCs gradually change with time or use. Research reactors experience two kinds of time dependent changes :(1) Degradation of SSCs (physical ageing), for example, gradual deterioration in their physical characteristics; (2) Obsolescence of SSCs (non-physical ageing), for example, their becoming out of date in comparison with current knowledge, standards and technology. Therefore, it is important to develop a system database that consists of the list of all reactor SSCs. The database was developed using methodology provided by IAEA guideline SSG-10 Ageing Management for Research Reactors. This paper will discuss the process involved in developing the database system starting from existing hardcopy data and transferred to the database system. The data stored in the database can be displayed in detail according to their ageing characteristic and mechanism. (author)
