Description
The invention relates to fast neutron nuclear reactors. In such reactors, the active zone and the lateral and front fertile zones around the latter are constituted by fuel element bundles. Ports are provided in the walls of each of said bundles, half-way up the active zone. Both above and under the plane passing through the centers of said ports, main fuel elements and extra fuel elements are arranged in said bundles. The space between these elements, together with the ports, forms the inlet manifold for the coolant which will lick said element. Said inlet manifold divides the coolant into two streams of opposite directions flowing through two outlet manifolds under and above the upper and lower front fertile zones
Abstract (French)
La presente invention concerne les reacteurs nucleaires a neutrons rapides. Dans un tel reacteur la zone active et les zones fertiles laterales et frontales l'entourant sont constituees par des paquets d'elements combustibles. Dans les parois de chacun de ces paquets, a mi-hauteur de la zone active sont pratiquees des lumieres. Au-dessus et au-dessous du plan passant par les centres des lumieres dans les paquets sont disposes les elements combustibles principaux et supplementaires. L'espace entre ces elements constitue conjointement avec les lumieres, le collecteur d'entree du caloporteur allant lecher les elements. Le collecteur partage le caloporteur en deux ecoulements en sens contraires s'en allant par deux collecteurs de sortie et au-dessous et au-dessus des zones fertiles frontales superieure et inferieureAdditional details
