Description
Instead of using boson creation and annihilation operators for gluons, coordinate and momentum operators are used. After a transformation to new coordinates, which have an illustrative interpretation, the structure of the QCD Hamiltonian in the one-level approximation simplifies enormously. This permits one to use an already known complete basis to diagonalize the Hamiltonian and to calculate excited states of high gluon number nonperturbatively. As an example the 0++ spectrum is calculated. Some illustrative properties of the new coordinates are discussed. For simplicity the author restricts the discussion to SU(2) color
