Description
Factors influencing steady-state voltage stability of power systems, and procedures effective for on-line voltage stability evaluation were identified and studied. The study was undertaken in an effort to determine voltage stability indices, and to evaluate the proximity of point of voltage collapse, using decoupled power flow, and to identify effective remedial actions. Shunt compensation has been evaluated assuming continuously controllable reactive power supplies and lumped compensation values in order to maintain the voltage of stressed systems. 7 refs., 18 figs
