Investigation and assessment of on the activity concentration level of tritium in the surface water of W district
- 1. Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, MEP, Beijing (China)
Description
This project mainly studied on the distribution of tritium activity concentration in the surface water of W District, and evaluated its contribution to the annual effect dose of local residents. Considering the distribution of lakes and rivers in the W District, points were selected to be located in the B distribution Lake and surrounding rivers. Samples were collected during the two seasons of the year. Results: The tritium activity concentration of the main lakes and rivers in W District are basically the same in the dry season (April) and the wet season (August). The activity concentration were located near the lower limit of detection line (LLD = 0.91 Bq/L) which were in the normal background level of China. The concentrations of tritium in waters were lower than the national standard limits which will lead a little dose burden to local residents. (authors)
