Description
Years of debate on the likelihood of anticipated transients without scram (ATWS) and methods for preventing or mitigating ATWS events culminated in the passage of the ATWS rule (10 CFR 50.62) in June 1984. This paper reports that even as equipment modifications are being implemented ways of coping with ATWS and new fuel designs are being investigated
