Application of neutron activation analysis in medical and biological research
Description
The application of neutron activation analysis for the determination of trace elements in biological material is described. The main method for determining trace elements at our laboratory is radiochemical separation after irradiation. It is possible to detect up to 30 elements in one sample of about 100 mg. Some aspects of routine application are given as well in the field of environmental studies. A short comparison to the atomic absorption method will follow that attempts to work out the different application fields of both the methods. (U.S.)
