Preparation and properties of double oxides ZnSmΛ2OΛ4 and ZnEuΛ2OΛ4 with spinel structure

Description
Compounds ZnSm2O4 and ZnEu2O4 crystallized n spined structure, have been synthesized. It is established, that monophase products are formed at 1100 deg C already in 10 h (intermediate roentgenographic study). Final products have cubic structure of gahnite (spinel) type with unit all parameters 9.228 A for ZnSm2O4 and 9.214 A for ZnEu2O4. Investigation of their optical, electric and magnetic properties is carried out and it is shown, that solid solutions ZnSmsub(2-x)Eusub(x)Osub(4) over the concentration range obey the Vegard law
