A report of the Ad Hoc Committee on Uranium Resources of the Sub-Committee on Nuclear Power of Committee on Overall Energy Study

Description

In order for Japan to proceed further with economics advance in the future, the development and introduction of the energies substituting for petroleum are essential for stabilized energy supplies. Among them, the promotion of nuclear power is highly important. Under the situation, the Ad Hoc Committee on Uranium Resources has studied on the problems around uranium resources and the measures for their acquisition, such as resource development and import, the deversification of supply sources, acquisition policy, stockpiling, and the coordination in resource acquirement. The contents of the report by the Ad Hoc Committee are as follows: the world demands and supplies of uranium, the supply and market structure of uranium resources, The policies on uranium resources in various countries, the present status of the measures to acquire uranium resources in Japan, the future directions of acquiring uranium resources in Japan.
