Description
Study was carried out to see the variation in dissolved oxygen concentration and sesquicarbide phase content due to change in carbon percentage in the feed material. Sesquicarbide phase content was found to vary only slightly with carbon percentage whereas oxygen concentration showed an inversely proportional behaviour. Judicious choice of carbon percentage is necessary to keep oxygen concentration and sesquicarbide phase content within specified limit. (author)
