Magnetic properties of Fe alloys produced by vapor quenching

Description

Sputtering is an effective vapor quenching method to produce a variety of monequilibrium alloys. First we describe various monequilibrium phases of Fe alloys produced by Ar sputtering, in particular Fe-Ag, Fe-Cu, Fe-Ag-Cu and Fe-Ti alloys. After discussing the magnetic properties including the Moessbauer spectra of Fe-Ag and Fe-Cu alloys, we report on to the effects of substratre temperature and Ar gas pressure on the monequilibrium phases and magnetic properties of Fe-Ag alloys. Finally, the thermal stability and the phase separation process of the Fe-Ag alloys are described. (author)
