Polarization operator in (2+1)-dimensional quantum electrodynamics in an external magnetic field
Description
The polarization operator in (2+1)-dimensional quantum electrodynamics in an external magnetic field is calculated in the one-loop approximation. Its expansion in eigenvectors is obtained and the analytical properties of the eigenvalues are studied. In particular it turns out that, in contrast to QED3+1, the polarization operator has simple poles at the electron-positron pair-production threshold
