Setup of the cryogenic cooling system on BL11XU at SPring-8

  • 1. Japan Atomic Energy Research Inst., Kansai Research Establishment, Mikazuki, Hyogo (Japan)

Description

Cryogenically cooled monochromator equipped with circulated-liquid-nitrogen cooling system has been installed on a JAERI beam-line, BL11XU, at SPring-8. This cooling system has improved the quality of the reflected X-ray from the monochromator. The system is rather complicated to operate, so that it is inevitable to provide a systematic instruction manual. Here, we completed a fully systematic instruction manual for the first time to operate the cryogenic cooling system on BL11XU safely and easily. The main part of new manual is fully tabulated at every operation, and each operation consists of steps with comments, instructions, and valve status. The instruction manual prevents trivial mistakes in operation of the cryogenic system at BL11XU and is expected to apply to the similar system at the other beam-lines. (author)
