Comparison of Rayleigh--Schroedinger and Brillouin--Wigner perturbation theories
Creators
Description
Parallel derivations of Rayleigh-Schrödinger and Brillouin-Wigner perturbation theory are presented, using the Dirac formalism. The relative advantages and disadvantages of the two are compared with the goal of smoothing the transition between elementary quantum mechanics and advanced approximation theory.
