Description
Thermomagnetic data and EPMA quantitative analysis showed that a hard magnetic phase in rapidly quenched Zr-Co and Zr-Co-B alloys is a Zr2Co11 intermetallic compound. The phase has a Curie temperature of 500 degrees C and a uniaxial magnetic anisotropy with an anisotropy field of 34 kOe. In addition, Zr6Co23 with Tc = 180 degrees C and cobalt including a small amount of zirconium are observed in those alloys
