Physical properties of CdS-based solid solutions in Sb2Se3-CdS system

Description
By the methods of physicochemical analysis part of the system Sb2Se3-CdS rich in CdS has been studied. A wide homogeneity region on the basis of CdS reaching 7.0 mol.% is detected. Thermo emf, electric conductivity and thermal conductivity of alloys containing 0.5, 1.0, 3.0 and 5.0 mol.% Sb2Se3 in a wide range of temperatures from the room one to 700 have been investigated. Thermo emf of the alloys at room temperature was not recorded; it is related to the presence of local levels in forbidden zone. Activation energy values in the range of intrinsic conductivity of the alloys studied are calculated
