Curiouser and curiouser at integer central charge
Description
In this paper, the authors give a method for determining the coset characters corresponding to the Goddard Kent Olive coset (g1/H1) construction for pairs (g1, H1 contained-in g1) of simply laced Kac-Moody algebras of level one. These characters have well defined modular transformation properties and may be used to construct modular invariant partition functions at arbitrary integer central charge. Explicit results for pairs of algebras with unit difference in rank are given. Among the more notable cases are those of E8/E7, E7/D6, E6/A5 which yield SU(2)1 characters and E8/A7 which corresponds to the Kosterlitz-Thouless multicritical point. The E8/D7, D4/A3 cosets and the entire series D1/D1-1 yield characters corresponding to a GSO projected Dirac fermion while E6/D5 corresponds to the N = 2 SUSY that appears when the radius of compactification of the a single boson is taken to be square root of 3 or square root of 3/2. The series D2m/A2m-1 exhibits field identifications and thus gives characters corresponding to a radius square root of m/2
