Weak interactions strongly attracting Nobel prizes

Creators

Description

The discovery is discussed of intermediate bosons W and Z at CERN. The idea behind the experiment is explained. Chronologically, the history is shown of the development of the weak interaction theory up to the Glashow-Salam-Weinberg model unifying weak and electromagnetic interactions into electroweak interactions. Some open problems of subnuclear physics are also discussed. (Z.J.)
