Highlights: We give an existence theorem of fixed point for a general weak contraction of integral type. Our condition does not require additional conditions for the uniqueness of the fixed point. The continuity of the self-mapping is not required. Abstract: We give a fixed point theorem for a self-mapping satisfying a general contractive condition of integral type in orbitally complete metric spaces. Some examples are given to illustrate our obtained result.
