RMS response of a weakly nonlinear oscillator subjected to nonstationary base motion

The rms response of a weakly nonlinear oscillator subjected to amplitude modulated correlated noise with zero mean was obtained by integrating numericallythe equation for propagation of the variance as given by theory of state variables. Results for different linear problems are compared with existing solutions. The method is then applied to a nonlinear oscillator subjected to a nonstationary model of seismic excitation. (Author)
