Behaviour of distribution function of ions in a tokamak plasma durng adiabatic magnetic compression
- 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.
Description
A mathematical simulation of the evolution of the plasma particle distribution function at adiabatic compression of a tokamak plasma is conducted by numerical solution of the kinetic equation. The distribution function of ions during compression is noted to become non-Maxwellian and anisotropic. Delaying in establishment of the Maxwell equilibrium results in increasing power contribution to the ion component. It is shown that deviation of the ion distribution function from the Maxwell function should be taken into account determining the ion energy content for the charge exchange atom spectra and particularly in the analysis of ion energy content changes during the magnetic field rise
