Description
The VPI Program Package designed for medium-size computers has been adapted to IBM PC type microcomputer. The package consists of 6 independent modules, i.e., FARCON, SLOCON, DISFAC, ODOG, ODMUG and FBURN. Operating system programs to manage all modules and to help inexperienced users have been added, especially for the input process which is now totally interactive. Automatic link between some modules, to transfer input-output data between them, called the VPI Link Version, has also been developed. The new version is able to calculate burnup or depletion in the successive cycles without the necessity to prepare new input data as in the original version. The results from IBM PC/XT are closed to that of the original version. The time required for each module varies from a minimum of 15 seconds up to 9 minutes for IBM PC/XT with 4.7 MHz microprocessor, and from 13 seconds up to 1 minute with 7 MHz microprocessor
