High resolution thermometry near the lambda point
- 1. Dept. of Physics, Stanford Univ., CA (USA)
Description
We report measurements of the temperature resolution and noise of two paramagnetic salt thermometers. The salts investigated were powdered copper ammonium bromide in superfluid 4He and crystalline gadolinium trichloride. Both were found to have a temperature resolution of better than 9x10-11 k/√Hz near Tλ. (orig.)
