Book
A survey of 6 cm formaldehyde absorption along the galactic plane
Description
In this paper a report is presented on observations of formaldehyde measured in 38 directions between l = 80 and 600 at b = 00. Observations were taken every integral degree between l = 140 and l = 360 and every 20 outside this region. The instrument used for this survey was the Mark II radio telescope at Jodrell Bank. A sample of the spectra observed between l = 270 and l = 340 is shown. The total survey is best displayed by means of a longitude velocity (l-v) diagram. The relation of formaldehyde to H I and H II measurements is discussed. (U.K.)
