Quasielastic scattering of high energy electrons and short range dynamical correlations in nuclei

Description

A diagram technique is developed and makes it possible to investigate the contributions of the short-range dynamic correlations (SRDC) of arbitrary order in the quasielastic scattering of high-energy electrons by nuclei. With the reactions 12C(e,e'p)11B and 16O(e,e'p)15N as examples, when the electron and proton are registered for coincidence, it is shown that inclusion of the SRDC even in the single-pair approximation leads to an appreciable change of the cross section. Maxima appear at small and large proton-scattering angles. Allowance for SRDC of higher order increases the heights of these maxima and shifts the minima towards smaller recoil momenta q sub(R). The single-particle functions of the independent-particle model are chosen to be both the harmonic-oscillator functions and the Woods-Saxon functions
