Experiments on the generation of pulses of supplementary accelerating voltage on the INUS-3 machine

  • 1. Scientific-Research Institute of Electrophysical Apparatus, Leningrad

Description

Results of experiments are presented on the pulsed high-current accelerator INUS-3 with an inductive energy storage element and an electron emitter based on a nickel-oxide cathode. The duration of the current pulse in the accelerator was 10-4-10-3 sec. Experiments on the use of an electron beam to switch off a gas-filled rectifier are also described. The rectifier is used to open the accelerator power supply. The results are given of experiments on supplementary acceleration of electrons when the flux changed
