Possibility of emission of two neutrons in β decay of nuclei with A> or =50

  • 1. Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, State Commission on Use of Atomic Energy

Description

It is shown in the framework of a microscopic model that the recently discovered process of emission of two neutrons accompanying the β decay of light nuclei can occur also in heavier nuclei with A> or =50. The probability of this process is calculated for a number of nuclei available for experiment at the present time. The process of emission of neutrons through a dineutron state is analyzed
