New compounds ABnW3-nO9 with the structure of hexagonal tungsten bronze type

Description
Above 50 new compounds of ABnW3-nO9 composition, related to the structural type of hexagonal bronze type are synthesized. The structure of the obtained phases is studied and parameters of elementary cell as well as superstructure type and crystal lattice distortions are determined. The results obtained testify to the high stability of the hexagonal tungsten bronze type structure of ABnW3-nO9 compounds relative to crystallochemical characteristics of the A and B elements. Elements with cations of various valency (from univalent lithium up to pentavalent vanadium, niobium and tantalum) and dimension may be selected for the above elements. 17 refs., 3 tabs
