Study of Relationships Between Astronomical Phenomena and Strong Earthquakes of the Caucasus by Fourier-analysis

  • 1. Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory, Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi (Georgia)

Description

The problem of the correlation of planets revolution periods and the frequencies of the origin of the earthquakes for the Caucasus has been considered. The obtained results enable us to make the following conclusion: the earthquakes more of all happen in the period of Moonrise i.e. during outflow (Moon tide). Besides, as it concerns the phases of the Moon, the earthquakes avoid the period from the waning half up to the new moon. In other periods earthquakes are distributed more or less evenly. (authors)
