Cytotoxic endocrinopathy: a legacy of insults
Description
A review is given of the types of endocrine function impairment observed in patients having received radiotherapy or chemotherapy in cancer treatment. These include anterior pituitary hormone deficiencies as a result of external radiotherapy to the hypothalamopituitary axis, thyroid cancer, thyroid dysfunction, hyperparathyroidism, precocious puberty, and radiation-induced and chemotherapy-induced gonadal damage.
