Ion energies in imperfect fields of the quadrupole mass analyzer

Description
Experimental and theoretical analyses of ion energies at the outlet of the quadrupole mass analyzer with imperfect field are realized in order to develop analytical calculation techniques. The analyses have shown that perturbations cause additional growth of the energy spread obtained by ions when passing through the edge fields. It leads to appearance of spurious peaks in mass spectrum
