Mechanisms of vacancy formation in transition metal oxides due to laser resonance radiation

  • 1. Moskovskij Inst. Stali i Splavov, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

Regularities of oxygen vacancy formation process under resonance laser effect are investigated by means of optical absorption spectra recording in V2O5 monocrystals within 0.8-1.8 eV range. Based on the experimental data obtained, due can state that the observed anomalies of defect formation and diffusion processes in V2O5 under resonance laser effect are connected with the creation of regions with excessive oxygen vacancy content strongly differing from the equilibrium one. Therefore phase transfers may occur in such regions with excessive vacancy content which appears to be the reason for total increase of a selective laser radiation effect.10 refs., 2 figs
