Soft x-ray spectroscopy
Description
This paper is a short review of the characteristics, in terms of experimental problems theoretical analysis and results, of the soft X-ray spectroscopy within the domain 700 to 3000 eV by comparison with the more well-known hard X-ray domain. A definitely large expansion of this technique may be expected from the development of new synchrotron radiation machines: either small machines with an energy around 1 GeV like super-ACO at Orsay or very powerful ones as ESRF using insertion devices
