Electron absorption spectra of solid compounds of actinides (5)

Description

In the range of 950-1050 nm electron absorption spectra of crystal compounds of the composition: NpO2OOCH·nH2O (n=0, 1, 2), NpO2OOCCH3·mH2O (m=0.1), Cs2NpO2(OOCCH3)3 and NpO2OOCCH=CH2·H2O were measured. They proved to be similar to neptunoyl spectrum in perchloric solutions. In case of NpO2OOCH·H2O and NpO2OOCH considerable long-wave shift as to hydrated NpO2+ ions up to 1003 and 1008 nm respectively occurs. It is assumed, that high intensity and relatively small shift of the absorption band maximum (994 nm) in NpO2OOCH·H2O spectrum are brought about by the presence of cation-cation bonds in the structure of the complex, in which NpO2+ groupings can play the role of monodentate ligands. In the process of work crystal hydrates of a new compond - neptunium (5) acrylate - were synthesized and their powder X-ray patterns were recorded
