Description
Improvements in dynamic performance of Indian PHWRs under various disturbed situations are achievable by the addition of feed forward signals to the existing controllers. Steam generator pressure control system, which is one of the major process control loops in Indian PHWR nuclear power plants, faces severe transients during reactor power variations as well as during load induced secondary side disturbances. Addition of feed forward signal to improve the dynamic behaviour of the steam generator pressure control loop and hence the overall plant performance is suggested in this paper. Off-line simulation studies were carried out to investigate the relative improvements and the results are reported here. (author). 3 figs
