Description

We report on the experimental observation of temporal vector cavity solitons in a fiber laser with a net anomalous and near-isotropic cavity. It is shown experimentally that as the pump power is increased, the elliptically polarized continuous wave (CW) emission of the fiber laser could first automatically become a periodic pulse train, and then evolve into a train of vector cavity solitons. The induced cavity solitons formed either under the coherent or incoherent cross-polarization coupling are also experimentally obtained. (letter)
